I have a (bad) habit of saving jars...canning jars, pasta jars, condiment jars, you name it. I clean them out and save them until I have a nice collection growing on our kitchen hutch and my husband starts getting that twitch whenever there's too much clutter lying around. I just can't bring myself to throw them away and they never seem to make it into the recycling bins.
So, with the holidays coming up (yes, they're coming quicker than you think!), I thought it might be nice to find some gift ideas to use up some of those jars (and appease my husband's twitchiness). so here are...
...Make Out of the Box (and In the Jar) Gifts!
Got a sweets lover? Go beyond the cookie mix in a jar and give them some adorable candy jars! This could easily be done with just a few dollars and some on-hand supplies.
You could also fill these with any number of things...Christmas lights, seashells, etc.
Kids will love these awesome glow-in-the-dark jars in lieu of a traditional night light. "Charge" them during the day and watch them light up at night!
If you know someone who is an avid gardener, or maybe has a small space but a green thumb, try this simple space-saving wall planter?
Book lovers will appreciate these elegant but simple luminaries made with old book pages and jars (just be sure they won't get too upset over torn pages!).
Lastly, for the crafty people in your life, try this cute storage idea and even a sewing kit in a jar.

What lovely ideas! I save all my jars too. Another crafty idea is a ribbon jar: poke a hole in the lid and thread the ribbon through. Keeps the ribbon tidy and handy.
Thanks, Megan. The ribbon idea is a great storage solution! Thanks for the tip!
Jars do have a lot of use. And it will be more interesting if you put designs on them. It's indeed challenging to do something to reuse them. I love what you have there by the way.
