TIPsters: Teaching Multiple Ages

Teaching a wide range of ages can be tricky when homeschooling. I've always been attracted to teaching methods and curriculum that is geared for families to use together with a variety of grade levels. As I shared in my curriculum choices for this year, the bulk of our homeschooling is done together--Bible study, history, geography, science, art and music. This year we'll also be learning Spanish together.

The only subjects we'll be doing separately are math, language arts and health. My younger two are only 21 months apart and I tried to teach them the same level but Mikayla struggled with that so I backed up and am teaching her at a slower pace than her brother. It stinks for me because it means purchasing materials for three separate grade levels, but it really is best for them.
