My Thoughts:
This is the first time I've read Robert Whitlow's work and it will mostly likely not be the last. The topic of abortion is certainly a hot button issue, with passionate proponents on both sides. I was drawn to this story because this issue is very dear to me for various personal reasons.
The novel examines the life of a scared teenage girl named Sandy that faces an unplanned pregnancy and has to make a difficult decision--just shortly after Roe w. Wade. Later in life, her past resurfaces when her job as a guidance counselor brings her face to face with a pregnant teenager under difficult circumstances.
What follows is a close look at the roller coaster ride of all parties involved and how their faith plays an integral part in each of their feelings, roles and actions. I was somewhat surprised and appreciative of the intricate and balanced viewpoints in the story, rather than pure rhetoric.

About the Author:
Robert Whitlow is the best-selling author of legal novels set in the South and winner of the prestigious Christy Award for Contemporary Fiction. A Furman University graduate, Whitlow received his J.D. with honors from the University of Georgia School of Law where he served on the staff of the Georgia Law Review.
