Day 04 - Your favorite book or series ever
Oh, geez. I can't choose, really I can't. There are so many different books that have spoken to me at different parts of my life throughout the years. It also depends on my mood and what's going on in my life.
I guess it's a tie between the Twilight Saga and Harry Potter. I know it probably seems ridiculous to a lot of people that I love young adult fiction so very much, but I find that a lot of times I can glean a lot more out of it as an adult than I would if I were a teenager.
Twilight reminds me so much of my own life story (well, minus the vampires lol). The power of that fierce, youthful love that takes hold of you and that you never want to let go, the confusion and realization of trying to come to terms with who you are and where you fit in the world, the self-sacrifice that you discover you have had in you all along and knowing that you'd die for someone you love. I see all that in more in those books, as well as the fantasy life of having super-human strength and power.
Harry Potter--that one is just hard to put my finger on. It's just simply a wonderfully rich, funny and dramatic story that captures the attention of people of all ages. And it's really hard not to love a book that has made the act of reading a really cool thing for most kids.
