My Computer Died

Haven't posted much this week because my computer died! I've had to fight for the family computer so I haven't had much time at all to post. Hopefully I'll get it fixed within the next few days and I'll be back and running again!

Week 5 in Review

First off, our Bible memory verse for the week was Matthew 4:4, as we continue our study of that book.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
We discussed the importance of knowing God's word and how it's important to feed our bodies spiritually just as it is physically, so that we can always know how God would want us to handle a situation or problem.

This week was also our first international travel to Mexico, and as such, the kids received their official (looking) passports, complete with photos.

As we've been studying North America, we took some time to play the Geography Game. The kids took turns drawing a country card and trying to locate it on their game board by placing a marker (in this case, emptying my wallet of pennies lol). It was certainly a challenge, especially with the Caribbean countries, but it was fun.

Since we're studying Mexico, our art project this week was based on a traditional Mexican art form of making clay sun faces. We didn't have any adobe clay, so we just used reusable modeling clay. They won't dry out and harden up but they still had fun with it.

Can you tell my girls like anime?

We were finally able to get outside for a bit and we took our nature study to the zoo.

I love this one. They have a hammock set up for the bears and he's just loving it!

Chillin' with their friend on the bench...LOL

We've been talking about the desert and I thought it might be fun to draw some desert animals. Since we don't live near the desert, the closest thing was the prairie dogs. Of course, they chose that day to hide in their burrows. So I just let them choose something else and they decided on the jaguar.

Unfortunately, he didn't stay in one place for too long but they did the best they could. I got another pic of him and one of his "cell mate".

Here are their renditions of the jaguar:

Of course, we couldn't take a trip to the zoo without having some rec time at the playground.
